Today, during his working visit to Akmola Region, Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has visited the assembly plant KAMAZ-Engineering.
The head of state familiarized himself with the activity of the plant, inspected the assembly shop which produces the main products and met with the team.
KAMAZ was one of the first to join the project for the development of Kazakhstan’s automotive industry having established KAMAZ-Engineering, its own assembly facility in Kazakhstan, ten years ago. The truck assembly project in Kokshetau was approved by Nursultan Nazarbayev himself. At the opening ceremony of the truck assembly plant in 2005, the President of Kazakhstan said, “We have finally reached an agreement with KAMAZ and set to work. The republic will arrange all necessary conditions for the enterprise, and we will support this project without fail.”
In all, KAMAZ-Engineering has assembled 9,940 KAMAZ vehicles worth 79.8 billion tenge, sold products worth 75.9 billion tenge, goods for 9.45 billion tenge. The total amount of sales of goods and products amounted to 85.35 billion tenge. In 2014, Kazakhstan exported more than 1,270 assembly sets (CKD sets), more than 1,250 KAMAZ vehicles were assembled in the facilities of KAMAZ-Engineering.
