Today, a solemn meeting on the occasion of 39th anniversary of the production of the first KAMAZ has been held at the Automobile Plant.
The first KAMAZ truck came off an assembly line functioning in a commissioning mode on February 16, 1976. After 39 years, KAMAZ employees, including veterans, gathered again for a festive meeting to celebrate this great event. It is noteworthy that, like in 1976, they received congratulations from the first general director of KAMAZ Lev Vasiliev who has recently turned 90 years old. In his video address, he wished the plant and its employees prosperity and continued success.
The event was also attended by Nail Magdeev, Head of the Executive Committee of Naberezhnye Chelny; Yuri Gerasimov, First Deputy General Director of KAMAZ, and other top managers of the company. In his speech, Magdeev emphasized the importance of KAMAZ for the city and noted how important each KAMAZ employee’s work was. Yuri Gerasimov agreed with him, “Much has changed in our company, but the KAMAZ employees’ attitude to work didn’t change: they have still got perseverance and responsibility – to ourselves and to the country.” The workers who particularly distinguished themselves have been awarded diplomas from the mayor and KAMAZ today. Amateur arts groups of KAMAZ’s departments conducted a concert for the audience.
